Gala Opening Night of Festival Miami

Festival Miami 2008 kicks off four weeks of glorious performances with “Passion and Pathos,” an evening of music by Academy Award winning composer John Corigliano, at the Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall. Violinist Jennifer Koh (pictured) performs Corigliano’s Red Violin Concerto with the Frost Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Yongyan Hu. Joshua Habermann directs the Frost Chorale in Corigliano’s lush setting of L’Invitation au voyage on poems of Baudelaire, and Gary Green conducts the Frost Wind Ensemble in the Florida premiere of Corigliano’s groundbreaking Circus Maximus. All seats reserved; tickets are priced at $75 (concert and VIP reception), $60, $30, $25 and $15. The concert is sponsored by Adrienne Arsht and is part of the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation Distinguished Visitors Series.
