This exhibition explores the world of Kaiju and its impact on Japanese pop culture and beyond, including the work of many Eastern and Western contemporary artists.
Japanese Kaiju were monsters created in response to the angst of the Atomic Age. The monsters have become a cultural phenomenon inspiring collectible vinyl figures, toys and art by many of pop surrealism’s luminaries.
Curated by Harold Golen, Harold Golen Gallery and co-organized by ArtCenter/South Florida.
