Malagasy Festival at Monkey Jungle

Saturday, February 7, 2009, from 2pm – 5pm; Monkey Jungle, Located on SW 216th St. and 147th Ave will be having a festival to celebrate the island of Madagascar with special emphasis on the unique cultural and biological diversity, and the threats facing them both. This event will be hosted by The DuMond Conservancy.
Featuring:
• Chameleons, geckos, frogs, orchids, and succulents from Madagascar
• Art and handicrafts by Malagasy people
• Presentations, including National Geographic Explorer Dr. Mireya Mayor
• African dance and musical performance by “Drumming with Ndakhteâ€.
Admission:
Adults – $10; children (4 – 18) – $5; under 4 free;
College Students (with ID) – $5
