Green Art USA will show a preview of its upcoming conceptual art installation for 2009 titled Eco-mmunities â„¢ , representing the undeniable connection between humanity and what we as humans can do to help save our planet. Displayed as one, these two very important components have a meaningful message to deliver to those who capture the human beauty wearing accessories made of recycled materials following our mission statement “more art, less waste”. We will create art pieces as accessories to be displayed in re-used mannequins from different recycled materials saving them from going onto the landfill, with the purpose of reducing the negative impacts in the environment threatening the survival of humans and other living species. The art pieces will be designed by Green Art USA artists: Mickey Dobovan, Nohan Mancia, Thania Aguirre, Alexis Rodriguez and Luis Valenzuela. Jorge Parra photographer also green art USA member will be presenting his campaign “Change 10”, the concept behind it is to showcase how easy it is for everyone to actively engage in helping the sustainability of our future life by doing very small efforts.
This event will coincide with the WWF Earth Hour, and serve as the pre-event for the official Earth Hour event. Earth Hour is a global initiative of WWF in which millions of people around the world will cast a vote in favor of action on climate change by turning off their lights for one hour on March 28, 2009 at 8:30 pm local time. By voting with their light switches, Earth Hour participants will send a powerful, visual message to their leaders demanding immediate action on climate change. WWF is the world’s leading conservation organization, working in 100 countries for nearly half a century. With the support of almost 5 million members worldwide, WWF is dedicated to delivering science-based solutions to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth, stop the degradation of the environment and combat climate change.
