The Cleveland Orchestra To Perform Education Concert At Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School 1/26/10

For the first time, The Cleveland Orchestra will perform an education concert at a Miami-Dade County Public School, on Tuesday, January 26, at 1:15 p.m. The Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Franz Welser-Möst, will perform at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School. The concert, called “Meet The Orchestra,” is a 60-minute, narrated program that showcases the string, woodwind, brass, and percussion sections of the orchestra through classical works.

Through its annual Miami Residency, The Cleveland Orchestra serves more than 20,000 adults and young people each year through a variety of concerts and community outreach activities created for the Miami-Dade community. These include three weekends of subscription concerts as well as free education concerts for more than 3,500 fifth graders at the Arsht Center, and numerous educational partnership activities within the New World Symphony, University of Miami Frost School of Music, and Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
