The Family Resource Center of South Florida was founded in 1978 by a group of community leaders. Its mission is the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect through the provision of Crisis Intervention, Family Support Services, Case Management, Parent Education Classes, and Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling Services. In the last year, FRC provided services to more than 4,500 children, adolescents and adults, with the twin goals of minimizing length of stay in foster care and reunifying families. The Family Resource Center is driven by the principle that nothing is more fundamental to a community than the safety and well being of its children. The organization seeks to prevent and change dysfunctional parent/child interaction patterns, promote positive self-concepts, and build healthy relationships. www.frcflorida.org
