This week we present five hidden jewels that distinguish themselves within these respective regions, either by their lesser known grape varietal, the extraordinary conditions they enjoy within their region or their quiet, yet consummate commitment to the creative traditions of wine making.
Join us this Thursday night as we explore and enjoy these luscious jewels from three of the Italian regions we’ve come to know so well.
Pinot Grigio, Virtus 2008 – Single vineyard pinot from Friuli with a total production of 220 cases
Pecorino, Marchesi de’ Cordano 2008- 100% pecorino grape from Abruzzo
Sangiovese Losco, Santa Lucia 2006- 100% sangiovese grape from Maremma, Tuscany
Aida, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2006- 100% Montepulciano grape from Abruzzo
Betto Supertuscan, Santa Lucia 2006- an outstanding wine from Maremma, Tuscany
