Miami Fashion Fest Puts Miami At The Center Of The Fashion World With City-Wide Fashion-Focused Events
From Thursday, October 21, 2010 through Saturday, October 23, 2010, Miami will transform into the most fashionable place to be for the “IT†crowd as Miami Fashion Fest launches a retail weekend to remember. During Miami Fashion Fest, locals and visitors alike will have the opportunity to experience city-wide fashion focused events, from designer personal appearances and runway shows, to styling clinics, in-store retail promotions, cocktail parties, fashion photo shoots and much much more. Miami Fashion Fest will host a handful of top designers, national media outlets and celebrities over the weekend to experience first-hand the energy and vibe of the City. A strong marketing and communications campaign will work to attract foreign shoppers and the cool fashionable “IT†crowd to Miami during the third week in October annually. As part of the three day weekend, fashionistas and Miami’s most beautiful people will come out to play in head-to-toe designer garb to support their favorite shopping spots around town. Retailers will play an active role in organizing their own in-store events and promotions to drive traffic into their stores and boost sales – the primary goal of Miami Fashion Fest.
Managing Partners Silvio Sulichin and Minerva Arboleya of ASI Marketing conceived this three day annual fashion fest with the goal to make Miami a more fashionably desirable place to live, visit and do business for the fashion industry. They created this annual city-wide initiative to energize the locals and entice the fashion “IT†crowd from around the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America to head to Miami for a weekend of triple S’s: Shopping, Socializing and Sun each October.
“Miami Fashion Fest is about boosting the economy and coming together in the name of fashion,” say one of the partners. “Miami has everything to be a cool destination: location, sun, beaches, an internationally affluent crowd and world-class boutiques. The beauty of Miami is that most designer brands are represented here through freestanding stores or with a presence in the major department stores. We feel strongly that fashion brands such as Diane von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera, Custo Barcelona, Nicole Miller, Donald J. Pliner and others who have invested in this market will support their business here by participating in MIAMI FASHION FEST in their own special way,” says Sulichin. Arboleya adds: “Our goal is to draw attention to Miami within the fashion industry and boast retail sales. Miami has always been on the fashion radar, we’re just elevating it to new standards.”
They envision fashion events taking place all over Miami-Dade County, with a concentration of activities in major shopping centers and retail destinations around town. The fashion theme is also adaptable to all lifestyle categories, including restaurants, hotels, nightclubs and art galleries, which are all important partners to complete the weekend experience.
A series of catwalk designer shows, such as those seen on the runways in New York, Paris and Milan, will close the evening each night followed by energized after-parties around town.
The Press Conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2010 (Time – TBD). With the fashion industry at the forefront, Miami Fashion Fest is destined for success as retailers and designers have the opportunity to contribute to the victory in their own unique way.
