Luxury fashion house Maison Martin Margiela, renowned for his high concept designs and classic style, will kick off Art Basel/Design Miami 2010 on Thursday,December 2 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The private cocktail reception will include the U.S. debut of the brand’s unique exhibit based on Maison Martin Margiela (20), a 20th anniversary celebration piece launched at the Antwerp Mode Museum (MoMu) in Belgium, which will remain on display in the store through January 2, 2011.

The Art Basel 2010 art installation showcases the silhouette of the brand and its evolution through time. At the end of the 1980’s, Maison Martin Margiela adopted a radically new silhouette defined by its length and the strikingly narrow shoulders and since the Spring/Summer 2007 collection, the designer behind the brand has been experimenting with extreme shoulder proportions.

During the intimate gathering housed in Maison Martin Margiela’s retail space, guests are invited to enjoy a cocktail reception and exclusive art installation preview while perusing the brand’s current Fall/Winter 2010 collection as well as a preview for Spring/Summer 2011. Both men’s and women’s apparel and accessories are creatively displayed throughout the store in design fixtures from the Maison Martin Margiela Interior Collection, a line also available for retail.
