Beats & Compas, hip-hop-Flamenco, is the production of Paco and Celia Fonta, (www.siempreflamenco.com). For this project they’re collaborating with choreographer, Charles Williams, songwriter / vocalist, Derin Young (dei 7 free range music www.nonradiomusic.com) and Grammy Nominated pop and house music Producer and DJ, Richie Jones, to weave, blur and blend an intricate performance of classic flamenco and modern hip-hop street — to the same beats and compas.

Compas is the traditional beat of flamenco and its defining feature. Beats are at the heart of hip-hop culture, and dance is the common experience to both cultures. Hip-hop dancer, Charles Williams, and flamenco dancer, Celia Fonta, unite their creative energies and delve into unknown territory. Williams will confront the flamenco compas and dance to its rhythms and melodies, while Fonta will look for inspiration in modern hip-hop beats. Music for the performance is composed by flamenco singer and guitarist, Paco Fonta, and songwriter / vocalist, Derin Young of dei 7. Beats by Producer and DJ, Richie Jones, accompaniment by percussionist, Romulo Bernal and bassist, Daniel Stable.

Beats & Compas, hip-hop Flamenco, will revolutionize the way you experience either of these musical genres.
