{I get a LOT of people asking me for my recommendations for Art Basel week. So, here you go: Get to the small art fairs; PooL and Verge are 2 of my favorites, but they are all fun. Crash as many parties as you can possibly make it to. If you can find out where any of the private parties are, hit those, too! If you can bullshit your way in, great! If not, on to to the next.
Then, if you have time, work your way up the ladder of the larger fairs, starting with the mid-size fairs, such as Red Dot, and working all the way up to the big one.
Key tips: partake of all the free Bustelo you can grab. Do not sleep. Do NOT take pictures of the art. Learn where to park so you can maximize walking because parking SUCKS. Grab the ArtBus, if you can. Talk to people. BRING BUSINESS CARDS. Say hi if you see us. Keep your ear to the ground and an eye out for those awesome unpublicized events. Some of the most fun events are the ones that are on no one’s list. And most important… you know it…. HAVE FUN.
Now, where are you going? Check out our massive list of events, which includes daily schedules.}
