The Roxy Theatre Group (RTG), a non-profit arts organization for children, is proud to present the musical comedy, Damn Yankees, featuring a cast of 55 students, ages 11-23 and an orchestra of students from the Greater Miami Youth Symphony (GMYS), a non-profit organization dedicated to training young musicians. Damn Yankees culminates in a profound story of true love, redemption and the will to win.
The high-spirited cast and orchestra are comprised of actors, dancers, singers and musicians representing over 24 different schools and colleges in Miami-Dade County.
Gala Fundraiser: An elegant gala fundraiser will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. & tickets are $50. The price includes a cocktail reception and an after-show dinner party. All proceeds benefit The Roxy Theatre Group’s Student Scholarship Fund.
Damn Yankees is based on the novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant by Douglas Wallop, music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and book by George Abbott and Douglas Wallop.
