Carfagno is an observer of art and nature, which has always been the primary inspiration for her work. She balances abstraction and realism through attention to the relationships between positive and negative shapes. She uses a bold clear color palette influenced by her experiences with the master of Pop Art. Converting the pencil drawings to the edge of aluminum starts a dialogue between medium and content.
