The Third Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon in the classical gardens at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
On Tuesday, February 22, 2011, The Vizcayans, along with Italian fashion house Valentino, will host the Third Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
Three years ago, The Vizcayans were faced with the challenge of protecting their beloved estate’s historic viewshed. In an impassioned effort to safeguard the endangered landmark, Norma Quintero founded the Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon, which has now blossomed into a much-anticipated annual event.
Fondly referred to as the “hat luncheonâ€, this year’s event will emulate the traditional chic daytime events that were customarily held in the formal Italianate gardens during Vizcaya’s early years as a public museum. Women are invited to dress elegantly; seas of glamorous and fanciful hats spotted in years past were almost as striking as the gardens. Gentlemen are welcome to attend in sub-tropical dapper dress including hats.
A Black River Caviar Reception beginning at 11 am will welcome guests as theyembark upon an exclusive experience of Vizcaya’s Italianate gardens. The al-fresco luncheon, beginning at 12:30 pm will include a fashion show featuring Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. Other highlights include the following: A raffle drawing for a one-week stay in a private guest house at La Foce in southeast Tuscany (see www.lafoce.com). A live auction for a $5,000 Shopping Spree and a private luncheon for 10-12 ladies catered by Thierry’s Catering at the Valentino Boutique at the Bal Harbour Shops (see www.valentino.com.
The Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon introduces guests to the splendor of Vizcaya’s gardens, and invites them to support The Vizcayans’ mission to protect, preserve and promote Vizcaya including its historic gardens.
