Festivities such as special children’s activities, health screenings and entertainment, begin around 8 AM. The 5K walk begins at 9 AM. Lunch is provided for all walkers when they return from the walk route.

The Broward County Heart Walk is for everyone. The majority of walkers are employees of companies who have committed to participate in the Broward County Heart Walk to promote a healthy lifestyle among their employees, build a collaborative, team-oriented work environment and give back to Broward County as a good corporate citizen. This year, the American Heart Association anticipates between 8,000 to 10,000 attendees at the Start! Broward County Heart Walk.

It is easy to participate in the Broward County Heart Walk! Once your company is committed to participate, American Heart Association staff works with you to insure your company has a great experience. As an individual you can sign up to walk as well. We encourage all walkers to raise a minimum of $200 that will go towards cardiovascular research. Incentives are available up to the $10,000 level.
