Hialeah, Florida – The Hialeah Harmony Run is based on the nationwide event – The World Harmony Run, a global relay that seeks to promote international friendship and understanding. As a symbol of harmony, runners carry a flaming torch, passing it from hand to hand travelling through over 100 nations around the globe. The World Harmony Run does not seek to raise money or highlight any political cause, but simply strives to create goodwill among peoples of all nations.
On Wednesday, March 23rd the City of Hialeah’s Creative Learning & Play (CL&P) afterschool program will host its own Harmony Run at Goodlet Park. CL&P participants have worked on various activities in preparation for Hialeah Harmony Run. We will kick off the event by proclaiming March 23rd Harmony Run Day in Hialeah. The children will participate in a mock run of the international event where they will be running around the track at Goodlet Park, holding the World Harmony Run Torch to promote peace and harmony in the community and around the world.
The City of Hialeah’s Creative Learning & Play out of school programs are funded in part by The Children’s Trust. The Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County. The Trust focuses its investments in the areas of health, development and safety and to increasing parental and community responsibility in children.
