MIAMI BEACH – Symbio, a new gym featuring an innovative science-fitness program, wants to meet its neighbors.

So, on Saturday, March 26, Symbio is opening its doors at 1815 Purdy Ave., so locals can put its trainers, instructors and all-new Cybex equipment through iron pumping, heart pounding paces.

Everyone who works out qualifies to win a free three-month membership.

So what is Symbio (http://www.symbiofit.com)? The gym takes working out and gyms to a level not yet seen in the industry. The founders, two champions of South Florida fitness, have developed the BioFit Metablic Test, which gauges an individual’s unique needs based on their metabolism, heart rate and stage of life.

The BioFit test establishes a person’s biological age (i.e. you can be 50 but workout like a 30-year-old, or you can be 30 and workout like a 60-year-old) and ideal fat-burning zone. Based on the results, Symbio’s staff can develop an individualized workout and nutrition plan.

The testing is so innovative that doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital use the BioFit Metabolic Test to help patients with a variety of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and hormone imbalances improve their health.

Athletes use the test to ensure that they can improve their performance in competition.
