In light of Japan’s recent natural disasters, we are requesting your help to assist those in need in the regions that were hit. You can help by attending Japan Now, a fundraiser in the form of a silent art auction, that will take place on Saturday 26th from 6 to 10 PM at ArtSeen (2210 NW 1st Pl, Miami, 33137). All proceeds will be disbursed to:
The Miyagi Prefecture is the most damaged of all areas in Japan by the earthquake and the tsunami, with currently 191,467 people hurt, dead and missing. For information on the Prefecture’s post earthquake-tsunami situation and funding objectives please see this site.
It is crucial that we come together as a community to support Japan. We are thrilled to let you know that, in just a few days, the response from the arts community has been overwhelmingly supportive as the list of donating artists grows daily. These include: New World Visual Arts Senior Class 2011 as well as Adler Guerrier, Bert Rodriguez, Christy Gast, Jiae Hwang, Dara Friedman, among many other talented national and international artists.
The works exhibited and your presence will gather much needed aid for Japan during this terrible time. In addition to the generous artists, Control Hair Salon will donate proceeds from their services to the cause during Saturday 26th.
We look forward to seeing you at Japan Now and are grateful for your support in advance. Diego Singh, Tomm El-Saieh and Inga Loyeva
