Adam White went to see one of Wendy’s plays recently in Miami at Wynwood’s GAB studio and decided to offer Wendy a permanent home in his Fort Lauderdale gallery surrounded by cafes, restaurants, boutiques and other galleries. “Wendy and New Light Theatre will be able to cast plays every month and have a solid home base from which to create. We are very excited to have her here; she is an immense talent that promises to get even bigger and better with this wonderful association” states Adam White, Gallery owner, Gallery 101.

The Jewish Nun is a coming of age time capsule portraying the journey of my youth in a deliriously emancipating musical comedy thanks to the extraordinary talents of Casey Dressler who brings it all to life and then some!” states playwright, Wendy White; “it is truly an honor to showcase The Jewish Nun as the premier play at the New Light Theatre’s new venue at Gallery 101. The Jewish Nun by Wendy White, performed by Casey Dressler is a comedic portrayal of a Jewish-American woman as she strives to find herself during her 19th year by delving into the pulsing life of Manhattan, juxtaposing the racy lifestyle of NYC with a self-imposed celibacy during an era of free-love.

This coming of age drama is a hysterical journey of close encounters of every kind filled with reckless abandon, amorous explorations and a momentous struggle between religious purity and the temptations of love and sex.
