Cevichery Restobar, the new neighborhood eatery serving authentic Peruvian cuisine is celebrating its official grand opening in the former Café Barcelona location, tucked away in South Beach’s famed Española Way.
On Thursday, July 28th, Cevichery Restobar will welcome and introduce South Beach to Peru’s world-class cuisine with a traditional Peña Criolla-themed event celebrating the resto’s grand opening as well as Peruvian Independence Day.
Peruvian owners Manuel Forero and Alonso Galvez invite guests to experience a sophisticated Peña Criolla, a folkloric party and music show typically held in Lima’s bohemian districts of Miraflores and Barranco. Live music will be provided by Proyección Criolla, a local band known for hosting lively peñas complete with the cheerful rhythm of Afro-Peruvian tunes and energetic dancers.
In addition, all partygoers will be treated to the restobar’s refreshing Pisco Sours and authentic cuisine prepared by executive chef Diego Pilares from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Complimentary bites include a variety of Ceviches; Causas, a papa amarilla-based dish mixed with fresh key lime, pressed into a cake, stuffed filled with chicken and served cold; Choclitos a la Huancaina, large grain Andean white corn drizzled in an ajà cream sauce made with a fresh queso fresco; Aji de Gallina, a shredded chicken dish served with a creamy ajà amarillo and parmesan sauce; and the Lomo Saltado con Quinoto, referred to as the Peruvian version of a stir fry, the dish features strips of filet mignon with onions, tomatoes, soy sauce, vinegar, ajà and served with quinoa cooked risotto-style in a pesto, pepper or creamy parmesan sauce.
