Honoring: Community Hero- FL Senator Mel Martinez
Corporate Hero- Bank of America
Carrfour Supportive Housing, the leading provider of permanent housing and supportive services for the formerly homeless in Miami-Dade County, will host its annual fundraising and recognition luncheon, Reaching New Heights in South Florida. This year’s event honors former Florida Senator Mel Martinez and Bank of America for their commitment to ending homelessness and will include a reception, silent auction, honoree presentation, keynote address and sponsor recognition.
There are currently 4,574 homeless individuals and families in Miami-Dade. Every dollar raised at the luncheon is used to leverage $100 in funding, which Carrfour uses to build and operate supportive housing for the homeless.
Carrfour is a non-profit organization founded in 1993 by the Homeless Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. The organization’s mission is to provide permanent housing and supportive services for formerly homeless individuals and families in Miami-Dade County and other cities in Florida through joint ventures with partner nonprofits. As the leading provider of supportive housing in Miami-Dade, Carrfour has assembled more than $200 million to develop and operate 787 supportive housing units across the Miami-Dade County and is committed to providing 1,000 additional supportive housing units in the County over the next ten years.
