Water, one of life’s simplest necessities, is something most people take for granted and Charity: Water strives to change that. Knowing that there are women and children walking for hours, just to secure some dirty water in an attempt to live was something that touched the hearts of some local individuals in the hospitality industry and their friends. Forming a small committee, Denise Erwin, of Season’s 52, Robin Orrell, of the Westin Colonnade, and a few other like-minded individuals set a goal to raise $5,000.00 with a party.
The organizing committee has already collected an incredible array of fabulous items to be auctioned at the event. Funds raised from the evening will build a well that will give 250 people, fresh water for the next 20 years.
A $35 tax deductible donation is the price of admission which includes complimentary cocktails and food stations including Season’s 52, Red Koi, La Cofradia, Flemings, Por Fin, Morton’s, and more. The Silent Auction will be offering restaurant certificates, hotel weekend getaways, a Chef’s Table at Season’s 52, and a grand prize drawing of a weekend away in Cancun.
Expect to enjoy an evening of great food, cocktails, music and entertainment while knowing that everything has been donated so that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the building of the wells and, yes, the entire event is also organized, staffed and executed by volunteers.
