First ever WHOLE Convention scheduled for November in Miami
An innovative concept in promoting holistic thinking, living and sharing among educators and healers, will be provided in North Miami next month. The Web of Holistic Educators (WHOLE) is hosting the WHOLE 11-11-11 Convention from 6 to 9 p.m., November 11, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., November 12, at the Kovens Conference Center, in the Biscayne Bay Campus section of Florida International University.
The event, co-sponsored by Natural Awakenings, Synergy Yoga and the Health Referral Network, offers a self-directed, facilitated learning environment, with concurrent education sessions, interactive panels and poster exhibitions. Presentations designed for all levels of experience will focus on current and emerging issues, best practices and challenges faced by holistic thinkers and practitioners. Continuing education units for massage therapists, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers and mental health counselors will be available.
Opening night events include Janet Weisberg, leading a workshop on reconnecting with Mother Earth, and musical performances by Venezuelan artist Jesus Hidalgo and the Pachamama Project. During a luncheon on Saturday, professor Timothy Evans, Ph.D., executive director of the Florida Adlerian Society and professor at Webster University, will discuss “The Art of Encouragement.â€
Joe Iron Eagle, a Chiricahua Apache Native American and medicine man, will join Saturday’s panel on organic and sustainable living and, with his drum, teach the Medicine Wheel during the evening general gathering. Other presenters include Brahmadev, Geri Carter, Dr. Isaac Goren, Dr. Leonor Murciano Chen, Ann Smith, Melissa Cramer, Autumn Raab, Lorraine Meyer, Suzzanne Barros, Lucy Caso, Adriana Zarate and Dr. Bernie Burton
