Join the Miami Rat Pack on October 22, 2011 for the first ever “flash” fundraiser! Think of it like a flash mob without the surprise element — just show up, offer a modest donation and have a delightful time with good people.
All proceeds will benefit the New World Symphony’s community outreach programs in local schools. This is not a New World Symphony sponsored event; we chose this organization because we love the work they do in music education.
This Rat Pack soirée is surely to be one of the season’s best parties, taking place on the rooftop of the gorgeous and newly renovated Hotel Breakwater on Ocean Drive. For the first hour, you’ll get delicious free passed hors d’ouevres and one champagne cocktail per person. Cash bar thereafter and food available for purchase.
Period costume is encouraged! Let’s put the classy back in South Beach, “Mad Men” early 60’s style. No need for formal gowns or tuxedos, but think black tie without the blacktie costs.
The dress code is voluntary; no one will be turned away! Absolutely no velvet rope or club attitude here. Fun and carefree for a good cause is the Miami Rat Pack spirit.
We’re working on some very cool stuff to raffle. For now, we have confirmed bottles of tasty Martin Miller’s Gin. Raffle tickets will reasonably priced, so bring your dollars. If anyone is interested in sponsoring raffle prizes, please talk to @vicequeenmaria.
What is the Miami Rat Pack?
We are a group of friends from diverse professions who like to socialize in real life and use social media to stay connected online. The name recalls the early days of the 60’s when the musical “rat pack” of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and other artists used to perform in Miami, Vegas and Hollywood.
