They will also feature their first Satellite show at the Fillmore Miami Beach on Friday, December 2nd with a book signing by artist Chris Dyer and artwork on display during the Yelle Concert.
From its inception, the Moksha Art Fair has been a nexus of cultural & artistic expression. It celebrates the mysteries that unite us with an eclectic mix of multimedia presentations that are meant to explore the inner landscape on the quest for universal oneness. This annual event takes place during the week of Art Basel Miami Beach, the biggest and most important art expo in North America. Since its debut in 2009, the Moksha Art Fair has become the premier visionary art showcase during this world-class, citywide event.
Moksha Art Fair 2011 begins on Wednesday evening, November 30th at 7PM with a complimentary Opening Reception featuring a viewing of the gallery art show with complimentary beverages and hors d’ouvres and music provided by DJ Dub Step.
Then on Thursday evening, December 1st at 8PM, the Moksha Family Collective and Community Arts & Culture will be hosting the Moksha Art Fair Lecture & Panel Discussion with moderator Dr. Constantino Manuel Torres Ph.D. The panel discussion will highlight ethnomedicine and its impact on art and culture. Dr. Torres is an archeologist, ethnobotanist, and F.I.U. Pre-Columbian Art Professor, who has written extensively on South American visionary plants. The panel will also feature Chris Dyer, Mark Henson, Alex Sastoque and a selection of local artists including Donna Torres who will be sharing insights into their own creative techniques and inspirations. There will also be a special memorial tribute to the late Robert Venosa, introduced by his daughter Celene, featuring “In His On Words” a retrospective video of his life. This intimate biography shares a unique perspective of Venosa’s artist vision and his impact on the art world and showcasing Jonathan Singer’s animated video inspired by Robert Venosa. In addition, Chris Dyer will be debuting the 2011 Moksha Symbol and unveiling the new painting with a special video presentation.
On Friday, December 2nd from 12noon to 3PM the Moksha Art Fair Artist Lecture Series will include Mark Henson and selected artists. Then at 4PM featured artist Chris Dyer does a book signing at the Fillmore Miami Beach at 1700 Washington Avenue. In their first satellite event, Moksha will also feature a selection of artwork from their Gallery, including rare drawings by Jimi Hendrix, on display during the Yelle Concert at the Fillmore that evening.
