On Thursday, October 27, Cafeina’s “I <3 Juernes” party series presents Tropicasa featuring DJ Oscar G with an opening set by Lázaro Casanova. Known for their weekly parties at Hoy Como Hayer, guests will dance to a live fusion of house, tech, dub, guaguancó and Afro-Cuban music. The weekly happening, named after the Spanish-language fusion of “Jueves” and “Viernes”—“Thursday” and “Friday”—is devoted to celebrating the unofficial beginning of the weekend with an international twist. Guests will enjoy a variety of drink specials, DJs and live performances, each designed to fuel the festivities into the early morning hours. A slew of specially priced “good times are about to ensue” libations include tequila and aguardiente shots ($4), and bottles of Old Parr whiskey ($150).
