Join the Miami Downtown Development Authority this Friday for the best happy hour in town, for the second concert in the DWNTWN Concert Series with Kaki King and Million Young. Food Trucks will be on-site and food and drinks will be available. Concert-goers are also welcome to bring their own blankets, food and drinks.
Kaki King along with her stringed friends which include the Oviation and a harp guitar are bringing their acoustic roots sound to Bayfront Park. She received a Golden Globe Best Original Score nomination for Sean Penn’s Into the Wild and was featured on the Grammy nominated soundtrack for August Rush. Spin magazine gave her last album 8 out of 10 stars and USA Today called it “bracing and fascinating.â€
Million Young and his chillwave sound will warm up the crowd with a mix of electronic beats, sampled elements and cool vocals.
Presented by the Miami DDA, additional sponsors include the Intercontinental Hotel Miami, Miami Children’s Museum and Miami New Times others involved include Embrace Events and Big Brothers Big Sisters. This season the Miami DDA has partnered up with Big Brothers Big Sisters for the Just Volunteer Miami initiative – a campaign to encourage volunteerism in Miami. The DWNTWN Concert Series is free to the public and held on the second Friday of every month during sunset happy hour. Food and drinks are available.
