The Bass Museum of Art will host its annual WINTER BREAK CAMPS from December 19 – 23, 2011 as part of its successful IDEA@thebass program. Campers will work in two groups; Camp A for ages 4 – 6 and Camp B for ages 7 – 12, with the museum’s experienced art teachers. Each day will feature a specific art theme inspired by artists and various techniques. Classes begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. daily and have a series of planned activities until 1:30 p.m., for Camp A, or 3:30 p.m., for Camp B.
IDEA@thebass is an interactive program that was developed to promote design-thinking skills and support creativity and personal expression. Bass Museum of Art’s winter break camps explore the adventures in painting, drawing and 3D design. Children are encouraged to create, converse, play and bring home beautiful masterpieces. Daily themes include Marvelous Matisse, Ocean and Animals, Astronomical Art, Pop Goes Creativity!, and The Art of Music for Camp A and Adventures in Printmaking, Paint with the Vibrant Colors of Central America, Illuminated Painting and Drawing, Asian Tye-Dye!, and Other Worldly Creature Creations for Camp B.
Enrollment for WINTER BREAK CAMPS is limited and advance registration is recommended. Admission to Camp A is $20/per day for members and $30/per day for non-members. Admission to Camp B is $30/per day for members and $40/per day for non-members. All children much bring their own lunches and snacks.
