Proceeds from the art sales will fully benefit Hard Hats 4 Haiti, a campaign launched by the Pan American Development Foundation to raise funds and create awareness for its rebuilding Haiti program, which directly impacts hundreds of thousands of Haitians affected by the 2010 earthquake, by rebuilding homes, revitalizing neighborhoods and creating jobs.

Miami photographer Jordan Michael Zuniga, founder of Red1 Studios in the Wynwood Art District, will showcase a collection of limited edition photographs at Haiti Art Expo 2011 at the Moore Building on Saturday, December 3rd during Art Basel week. Zuniga’s ‘Haiti: Hope in Progress’ is part of his support to the Hard Hats for Haiti campaign, which is the catalyst for the Pan American Development Foundation’s Rebuilding Haiti program, a comprehensive plan to rebuild homes, revitalize neighborhoods, and create jobs.

Haiti Art Expo 2011 is a pledge from Miami’s cultural community to make a positive impact in the lives of the Haitian people. Co-hosts Michele Frisch and Michael Caponni present an exhibition which demonstrates the visionary power of Haitian visual art that has continued to command international attention. “Haiti: Hope in Progress” will be the highlight of the evening, along with the one-of-a-kind collection of Haitian fine arts comprised of a variety of media, objects d’art and photography.

“Thanks to Haiti Art Expo 2011 and Mr. Zuniga we are having the invaluable opportunity to spread the word about our work in Haiti, with a direct impact in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Haitians” said Paul Fisher, Director of Corporate Partnerships for PADF.

Alongside Zuniga’s images will be a new collection of exclusive, high-end bags and clutches designed by Haiti-born Françoise Elizée. Crafted with her signature lizard, crocodile and python skins, Elizée seeks to re-define the luxury fashion industry through her limited edition designs handcrafted and made in durable materials, with bold and fashion forward colors.

Sales from the exhibit presented by gallery owner and collector Michele Frisch, as well as Zuniga’s photographs and Elizee’s handbags, will directly benefit the Hard Hats for Haiti campaign, which has already received a commitment of over $50M from institutions such as the World Bank, the American Red Cross, the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, and Caterpillar.

With a career spanning more than fifteen years Zuniga has an extensive portfolio, with the diversity in his work fuelling his pursuit of photographing subjects that provoke the emotions of his audience. Today Jordan is found at his successful Red1 Studios, where he works with an array of clients while also shooting his own personal projects and editorials. Recently Jordan has expanded his brand and scope of work to include philanthropy. He is currently involved with PETA, PADF and The Miami Heart Gallery to name just a few.
