Alberto GarcÃa-Alix (Spain, 1956) is one of the most important figures in contemporary European Photography. His work, charged with great intensity and profound poetry, has stunned the world of visual arts, creating his own complex universe. His portraits reflect the spirit of a generation. Photographer, writer and video artist, GarcÃa-Alix has presented countless exhibitions since 1981 including his first retrospective in Photoespaña Festival (1998), the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Arts (2002), Les Rencontres Internationales de Arles (2007) or the Spanish National Museum Art Center Reina Sophia (2008). Recently he has shown his work in important art centers in Beijing, México DF and Moscow. He has received prestigious prizes such as the Spanish National Photography Award and his work can be seen in great collections like the Deutsche Börse Collection in Germany.
