Miami-based ArtOfficial is a hip-hop ensemble with jazz and funk influences. The band consists of vocalists Newsense and Logics, Danny Perez on keys, Ralf Valencia on bass and Keith Cooper on the saxophone. ArtOfficial’s live performances have earned them a reputation as a “superhero team of sorts, comprised of some badass musicians as well as MCs” according to 944 Magazine. ArtOfficial’s first two projects, the EP Stranger (2008) and The Payback (2010) which is comprised of reworked songs by Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead, Jay-Z and others, were widely shared over the Internet earning ArtOfficial a newfound worldwide audience. ArtOfficial has shared the stage with a variety of artists from KRS-One, The Sugarhill Gang, Andy Smith of Portishead, N.E.R.D. and Raekwon to Ghostface Killah and Mobb Deep. The six-piece has performed at Rock the Bells, A3C Hip Hop Festival in Atlanta and Hipnotik Festival in Spain, and they beat out more than 1,000 bands to perform in Lollapalooza’s Last Band Standing.
