RECESS & Why Patterns
Art and architecture meet dance and drama!
Award-winning choreographer, Jonah Bokaer, launches the Carnival Studio Theater’s Dance Up Close series with the Miami premieres of Why Patterns & RECESS, in collaboration with acclaimed visual artist Daniel Arsham.
Jonah Bokaer, hailed as “contemporary dance’s renaissance man” (The New York Times) and his dancers offer a surprising, innovative program combining dance, architecture, and visual art. The site-specific works are designed by acclaimed visual artist and Miami Native-Son Daniel Arsham and his architectural design firm, Snarkitecture, which investigates structure and materials within a space and how they can be manipulated to serve new and imaginative goals.
