Bonnie Clearwater has written extensively on modern and contemporary art. In addition to the books Clearwater has authored on this subject, she has organized exhibitions including solo shows for emerging artists, historical surveys of modern and contemporary artists and thematic exhibitions that examine current interests of artists. Over the past 15 years, Miami has become a burgeoning art center with a vibrant artist community, and Clearwater’s lecture focuses on the special characteristics of Miami’s art scene that provide conditions conducive to stimulating the creativity of Miami-based artists. Clearwater received her M.A. in art history from Columbia University and a B.A. in art history from New York University.
Join us at Fairchild each Thursday evening from January through April 2012. Thursday Nights at Fairchild feature enriching lectures led by Fairchild’s team of experts plus special guests on topics including art, gardening, conservation and much more, as well as moonlight tours of the Garden and the work of our featured artist, Will Ryman, plus free yoga classes by Rina Yoga and star-gazing with the Southern Cross Astronomical Society.
Admission is free for Fairchild Members and children 5 and under. Non-members: $25 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and up and $12 for children 6-17.
