Ready for a workout with a twist, shimmy and shake? Janette Janero, a vibrant new resource in the local health and fitness scene, is bringing her one-of-a-kind Burlesque Fitness class public.

South Florida’s fiercest femmes (and those who want to become one!) are invited to connect Saturday February 11th, 2012 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Florida International University’s Recreation Center RC101 for a pop-up Burlesque Fitness session, taught by Janette Janero herself. A fun and sexy class that actually works up a sweat, Burlesque Fitness centers around a seductive, dance-based fitness routine, meant to work and tone students’ best “assets.”

In its first ever open-to-the-public forum, the class invites participants to partake in this sophisticated-yet-suggestive take on the theatrical art form of dance that combines elements of acting, modeling, and dancing. Using chairs as props, the class actively targets and tones arms, abs, hips, and thighs. Dancers will learn a full routine – whether they take it back to the bedroom is up to them!

A minimum donation of $10.00 is strongly requested. Guests are also encouraged to bring their creativity as there will be a station to custom design and create Valentine’s Day cards for the patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Weekly Burlesque Fitness classes are available Fridays at 3:00 p.m. at Florida International University’s Recreation Center, for members only.

Janette Janero, personal trainer and group fitness director at Florida International University and University of Miami, is a vibrant new resource in the South Florida fitness scene. Janero brings balance and health to her students and clients through her intense education process, which incorporates both exercise technique and the practice of healthy living, combined with a hands-on approach.
