Erin Parish will be presenting “Submersion: a digital exhibition” and Todd Erickson “Food is Art, Art is Life, Life is Good”
Dinner seating begins at 7:00 p.m. Menu viewable on the Haven website
This week’s program features the artwork projected on the five surrounding hi-fi digital art walls, curated by Ricardo Aguillon. Created is an emersion into the paintings and the food, echoed by the ever modified color palette of the surrounding objects and the space, a truly submersive experience accompanied by a chill DJ set.
While Erickson is the Executive Chef at Haven, this is a one night event for Parish. Stepping out of her familiar yet rarified world of high art, this is a first for her. The ability to bring together and manipulate high res images of her paintings while outside of the traditional gallery setting gives her a new freedom to experiment with the malleability of the digital medium. She is without the risk of going too far with a work and not being able to step backwards, as happens in the realm of the non-virtual. Usually on a busy exhibition schedule, the concerns here are vastly different and is an exciting opportunity for Parish.
The pairing of Erin Parish and executive chef Todd Erickson together is a fusion of the fine arts and the culinary arts. The program is designed to immerse the guest in an atmosphere that stimulates the senses in every way and also is especially poised to coincide with the last evening of the South Beach Wine and Food Festival. The blending of art, food, and music, sets the stage for a singular and memorable experience. Please come by for drinks or dessert or to dine.
