Prepare to “Conga!” as The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale transforms the oceanfront moonlit lounge into the 1950s Tropicana Nightclub, where cigar rollers, domino tables, specialty mojitos and Cuban-inspired cuisine take you back to vintage Havana, a time where bongo beats matched the island’s ever-beating pulse. Oversized telescopes are lined up to view the luminous moon rise above the Atlantic as DJ Rob Riggs adds Caribbean flavor into the evening’s mix, including sounds from the salsa queen herself. This month’s Full Moon party benefits Becca’s Closet (www.beccascloset.org) providing formal attire to high school students who otherwise would not be able to attend their prom. Bring your gently worn, modern and dry-cleaned prom dress, shoes and other accessories to donate to this amazing cause and we’ll treat you to a complimentary cocktail.
