This exhibition examines Rita’s Ackermann’s work throughout her career. A native of Hungary, Ackermann moved to New York in the 1990s and has forged a new visual language in paintings, drawings and collages, which range from psychologically intense expressionism to colorfield abstraction.
Rita Ackermann will be on view through May 6, 2012
The exhibition is organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami and is curated by MOCA Executive Director and Chief Curator Bonnie Clearwater.
A major monograph published by Skira Rizzoli with essays by Bonnie Clearwater, Harmony Korine, John Kelsey, Felix Ensslin and Josh Smith will accompany the exhibition.

Comprised of Lizzi Bougatsos, Brian Degraw, Josh Diamond and Jesse Lee, Gang Gang Dance originated from the same experimental Brooklyn scene as Animal Collective and Black Dice.
The band’s mixed media work was included in the 2008 Whitney Biennial.
