The Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort is turning up the heat with a saucy, Latin Spice night on Tuesday, April 10th featuring a 60-minute Zumba fitness class taught by special guest instructors Shyam Thakker and Paul Siron followed by a healthy, three-course dinner.
Dubbed one of the “Best Workouts of 2012!” by “The View” on ABC and featured on Shape magazine’s “Hot Listâ€, Zumba Fitness is an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that’s moving millions of people toward joy and health. Classes burn an average of 1,000 calories an hour, the equivalent to 60 minutes of competitive soccer, or downhill skiing. Celebrity fans include Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Jordin Sparks.
The fun starts at 6 p.m. in the Newport’s Tiffany Ballroom. Following the high-intensity, 60-minute Zumba class, partygoers will have access to the showers and locker rooms in the hotel’s Aveda Seven Seas Spa & Salon before being ushered into Kitchen 305, located in the lobby of the Newport, for Latin-inspired cuisine and cocktails.
The health conscious, prix fixe menu starts with a baby spinach and goat cheese salad, savory goat cheese, crisp hearts of palm, roasted walnuts, fresh orange slices, tart cranberries, cucumber and cherry tomatoes served over a bed of tender spinach with a cilantro lime vinaigrette; red snapper Vera Cruz, pan seared snapper filet seasoned with red pepper, tomato sauce and Yucca puree served with rice and black beans; and a slice of sweet coconut cake for dessert.
