Magic City Casino, Miami’s first casino to offer Las Vegas style slot machines, presents Willy Chirino with special guests the Celia Cruz All Stars who will perform live on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 8pm in the Magic City Amphitheatre. In addition, the casino will also have its FREE monthly Wheelin’ Dealin’ Street Food Festival at 5pm on the same evening showcasing some of Miami’s best food trucks.

Grammy Award winner Willy Chirino is celebrating his 40th year in the music business. He is recognized throughout the world as the creator of the “Miami Sound,” which blends Cuban music, rock, jazz, Brazilian and Caribbean rhythms. In 2006, he won a Grammy Award for the best Salsa/Merengue album for Son del Alma and was nominated in 2007 for a Latin Grammy for best Salsa album for 35 Aniversario – En Vivo. He has over 30 albums under his belt and earned Platinum Records for “Acuarelas del Caribe” in 1990 and “Oxígeno” in 1991. In addition, his songs “Zarabanda,” “South Beach,” “Asere” and “Afro-disiac” have earned Gold Records. He received a star on the Calle Ocho Walk of Fame and was named the King of the annual Calle Ocho Carnival in 1993. He continues to tour and bring the audience to their feet.

The Celia Cruz All Stars will open the show celebrating the legendary Celia Cruz’s music. The Celia Cruz All Stars is a group of talented musicians that gathered together to pay tribute to Celia Cruz and the music she made. The band brings back to life the classic and timeless songs such as “Quimbara,” “La Vida Es Un Carnaval” and “Usted Abusó” made famous by Celia Cruz. For more than 50 years, Celia Cruz has made an impact on music in the Latin music scene. The Celia Cruz All Stars help keep Celia Cruz’s legacy alive by honoring one of the most influential musical artists of all times through music.
