Late 70′s/early 80′s South Florida: The Mariel boat lift…Miami Race Riots…Cocaine Cowboys and…Rock-n-Roll?
Guerilla documentary Invisible Bands tells the story of the all-but-forgotten punk/new wave music scene that took place in South Florida during those tumultuous times. It wasn’t pretty. Using one camera, found footage and exclusive interviews with those still around, filmmaker Greg McLaughlin has created a historical document of not only the music but the time period itself – a time capsule of a “lost scene†and the characters who created it.
Includes rare, never-before-seen footage of such almost-was heroes as Critical Mass, The Eat, Charlie Pickett, The Cichlids, The Reactions, The Front, Screamin’ Sneakers and dozens more!
TWO screenings – Friday & Saturday night!
Immediately following the film both nights there will be a question and answer session featuring the director Greg McLaughlin along with Charlie Pickett (Charlie Pickett & The Eggs), Isaac Baruch (The Reactions, US Furies) & Rat Bastard (Myron & the 2Wotz, Dengon)
