On June 29th Jazz at MOCA will open with a reading by Hannah Yoldine Lowenstein 10 year-old author and illustrator of Hannah Tells A Story about her new life in South Florida after her adoption from an orphanage in Haiti. Since coming to the U.S., Hannah discovered her innate artistic talent, and the book includes reproductions of 25 of Hannah’s paintings.
Afterward, Hannah will lead a painting workshop for children and their families, incorporating the vibrant palette and style common to artwork from Haiti.
Alexandra Barbot will read from her children’s book Mommy, Tell me about Haiti.
