City of Hollywood to Host Rose’s Garden Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Thursday, July 12 at 6 p.m.
Corner of 24th Avenue and Monroe Street in Hollywood
The City of Hollywood will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open Rose’s Garden Park at the corner of 24th Avenue and Monroe Street in Hollywood on Thursday, July 12 at 6 p.m. The event is open to the public.
The new park was created using grant funds from Broward County’s Safe Parks and Land Preservation Bond Program and with special assistance from Broward County Commissioner Sue Gunzburger. The park is nearly an acre in size and utilizes solar-powered lighting and a trash-recycling compactor unit, as well as a cistern system to collect rain water for landscaping and irrigation. Other environment-friendly features include recycling materials and native landscaping. The park also has five exercise stations along a walking path and a covered playground area with a ForeverLawn synthetic safety surface.
