Tamalyn Dallal, a member of the CID Unesco World Dance Council and owner of the “Zamani Culture House” in Seattle, Wa., is in Miami for a limited time to give a series of talks, classes and performances. “Diva History” is an introduction to ethnic and Middle eastern dancers throughout history. She will give information about the life stories of Ruth St. Denis, La Meri and Mata Hari, as well as more contemporary dancers who researched and brought Middle Eastern dance (belly dance) to the US. We will also see film footage of Egyptian dancers from the 1930’s to the 1970’s.
This is a rare opportunity for history buffs, dance enthusiasts, and those with a passion for learning and culture to expand your knowledge with this fascinating lecture.
