WLRN and the Miami Herald would like to cordially invite you to the Remembering Andrew Event at the Miami Science Museum this Thursday, August 16th at 6:00pm.
Guests will be part of a special listening session of the documentary under the stars of the museum’s planetarium. We will actually be setting the planetarium back so that we will literally be sitting under the same sky as the night that the storm hit our shores. Guests will also get a sneak peak of the exhibit that the museum has been working on, and they will witness a masterful photography slideshow from our partners at the Miami Herald. Light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres provided by Friends of WLRN.
Special guest speakers will be in attendance.
As you might have heard on air, or even helped contribute to, WLRN has been collecting and telling the stories of Hurricane Andrew for the 20th anniversary of the devastating storm, which is next Friday, August 24th. As a way to wrap-up all these stories, our team has been working on a one-hour radio documentary telling the story of Hurricane Andrew, and the mark it left on our region forever. The title of this documentary is Remembering Andrew.
