In an attempt to open the door to the local art scene and invite in everyday average people Yo Miami organized the soft opening for its new home Yo Space, a gallery and artist collective, this past June. To celebrate the occasion there was an indoor market of sorts where 12 artists were able to display their wares. The artists sold everything from original works, to limited edition prints, and other merchandise. The only rule was that no individual item could have a sale price over $250.

After the overwhelmingly positive response to the first Average Joe Sale, we decided to jump right in and make it a monthly event. The next one will be taking place on Sunday, September 23rd from 3pm to 9pm. There will be a fresh batch of 16 artists showing their work (including some returning favorites from previous editions) and our resident artists Lorie Setton, Vince Herrera, and Kazilla will be in their studios as well.

Jolt Radio will be helping us bring some music to the festivities with a DJ spinning throughout the day. Also Ms. Cheezious will be out front serving up grilled cheese and other tasty treats with the crew from Subvert Ales providing their unique brews to wash them down with (while supplies last).
