JUSTMAD MIA is an initiative by ArtFairs, a Spanish company specialized in organizing contemporary art fairs since 2009. ArtFairs is both responsible for MADRIDFOTO the international photography fair and JUSTMAD the international emergent art fair. ArtFairs has a young team of entrepreneurs, which, in a context like the present, have decided to step towards internationalization with the creation of JUSTMAD MIA – the International emerging Art Fair to be held in Miami during the first week of December 2012, when this city concentrates the world’s contemporary art market.
The international contemporary art fair JUSTMAD was born in 2010 aiming at becoming a reference platform in the circuit for the diffusion and commercialization of Spanish, European and Latin American emerging art.
JUSTMAD MIA is a general-art fair of medium format dedicated to emerging contemporary art. The principal line of work focuses on the participation of young galleries from Spain, Europe and America presenting artists under 40. A second line allows mid-career or more consolidated galleries to present artists younger than 30 years of age.
The organizational structure of JUSTMAD MIA incorporates an advisory committee formed by the galleries NoMÃnimo (Guayaquil), Eva Ruiz (Madrid) and La Caja Blanca (London-Mallorca).
This new fair, located at the Wynwood District, will integrate the work philosophy of its partner from Madrid and will show the usual visitor of the Miami Art Week, a comprehensive selection of cutting edge art, design and architecture.
The fair will have a general program of 50 galleries, three specific programs for artists and a series of parallel events devoted to architecture, design and gastronomy. JUSTMAD MIA is a stimulating exhibition targeting the American and international public, with some of the best art and culinary proposals generated in Europe today.
