WHAT: The M. Athalie Range Cultural Arts Foundation (MARCAF) presents its 15th Gala, A Musical Celebration of Life, this signature fundraising event commemorates M. Athalie Range’s lifelong commitment to the arts. The event will honor select individuals for their exemplary lifetime achievements and contributions to South Florida’s past, present and future.

About the DCA Jazz Ensemble
Known as the DCA Jazz Ensemble, the Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble is a performance oriented ensemble composed of talented student musicians selected from Broward County. Under the direction of Christopher Dorsey, the primary goal of the Jazz Program at Dillard Center for the Arts is to introduce students to a wide array of Jazz literature at the highest level, and providing performance opportunities. The band is open to students in grades 9-12. Auditions are held prior to the start of school. The Jazz Ensemble has made public appearances with Wynton Marsalis, Marcus Printup, Vincent Gardner, Marcus Roberts, Rodney Whitaker, Terrell Stafford, Chris Crenshaw, Wycliffe Gordon, Leon Anderson, Rodney Jordan, Melton Mustafa Sr, Lou Donaldson, Negroni’s Trio, Chico Hamilton, and The Clayton Brothers, just to name a few. Just recently the Ensemble appeared on 60 Minutes (CBS).
