This art installation curated by Dorothy Palanza, who also is creating the central piece of the show, brings together work by various artists with the intention of bringing a different perspective of the ocean as an environment to exist in, where air space becomes water space that viewers walk through. A video/poem collaboration by Elizabeth Bradfield and Demet Taspinar will be part of the show. Bradfield is cuurently the Poet-in-Residence at Brandeis University. Demet’s work has been shown at Art Bosphorus, Canakkale Art Biennale in Turkey, and the Tate Modern in London.
A portion of sales will benefit the Provincetown Center of Coastal Studies (PCCS). The mission of the PCCS is to conduct scientific research with emphasis on marine mammals of the western North Atlantic and on the coastal and marine habitats and resources of the Gulf of Maine; to promote stewardship of coastal and marine ecosystems; and to conduct educational activities and to provide educational resources that encourages the responsible use and conservation of coastal and marine ecosystems. The PCCS believes that the preservation of marine and coastal habitats and the recovery of species are crucial to the health of all life.
