Join us for a spectacular evening of staged readings of new work and works-in-process by this year’s Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs’ Playwright Development Program playwrights.

Over the course of the two-year program, master playwright Deborah Zoe Laufer is guiding Andie Arthur, Edward Excaliber, Vanessa Garcia and Susan Westfall in creating new short and full-length plays. The "From Scratch" Festival showcases exciting new pieces running from one minute to ten minutes each.

This fast-paced evening includes: a look at love from the three point line; the consequences of a truly creepy birthday present coming to life; the duel between Edward Cullen (Twilight) and Edward Rochester (Jane Eyre) for a young woman’s mind; and the imponderables of a young man and an older woman meeting in a pawn shop, ready to sell treasured possessions.
