The second Seven50 public summit – “A Look Ahead: Trends and Opportunities” – will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, January 24, at the Chapman Room at Miami-Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, 300 NE Second Ave., Miami, FL, 33132. The Public is invited to help develop a regional blueprint for Southeast Florida. A live webcast will be provided for those who cannot attend in person. An informal summit reception will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, at the Freedom Tower, 600 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL, 33132. During the highly interactive summit, attendees will participate in live keypad polls throughout the day and personally record videos with their visions for the region. The public will also get a first peek at a comprehensive model for the seven counties in 2060, which is currently under development, and will provide input for the creation of alternate future scenarios. Attendees will design the future alongside urban planners and transportation experts. The goal of Seven50 is to create stronger, more diverse communities, a cleaner environment and a stronger economy for the region comprised of Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties. Led by the South Florida and Treasure Coast Regional Planning Councils and the Southeast Florida Regional Partnership (SFRP), a collaboration of more than 200 public, private and civic stakeholders from the region, the initiative seeks to develop a 50-year blueprint for a more prosperous and resilient future.
